Ricochet 03:36
She was only a girl, and she dared to think differently And her dreams were just dissolved tragedies She was young and no one had asked for her name In her past, she screamed at them helplessly But they brought her misery endlessly In this life you follow the path of the sheep, or you stand on your feet Could it be wrong to stare, out of the slightest care For a man that’s put you down everyday comes and you try to remain sane Could it suffice to say that he has had his way, or should his actions richochet and hit him right into the face? She was only a girl, but she grew into something new It was time, she knew what she had to do Pay them back for all of the things that they did And she changed, her actions were radical A loaded gun with a trigger to soon be pulled In this life, she’d only succeed when she made others bleed, made them fall to their knees And she’d sit back, abashed Watching her pain being paid back Eyes wide, straight back, she would stay Could it be wrong to stare, out of the slightest care For a man that’s put you down everyday comes and you try to remain sane Would it suffice to say that he has had his way, or should his actions richochet and hit him right into the face? – Sotto James, 2014

The splinter of a dragon tree Has stuck me in the heart The energy it gives to me Inspiring and smart My hands are stained with ink and blood My tongue is going numb This phase I know will surely pass But now we can be young I don’t care for criticism It’s opaque, leads to collision I just wanna be with her Golden syrup connaisseur Brings me hope but doesn’t know it She’s my fairy, I’m the poet I just wanna be with her Golden syrup connaisseur And everything starts making sense When I look at her innocence She is a mystery I’m willing to discover When she walks by I’m filled with doubt A riddle I can’t figure out I don’t care for criticism It’s opaque, leads to collision I just wanna be with her Golden syrup connaiseur Brings me hope but doesn’t know it She’s my fairy, I’m the poet I just wanna be with her Golden syrup connaisseur I don’t care for criticism It’s opaque, leads to collision I just wanna be with her Golden syrup connaiseur Brings me hope but doesn’t know it She’s my fairy, I’m the poet I just wanna be with her Golden syrup connaisseur – Sotto James, 2014

You’ll look at yourself in the mirror And disregard the rusted stains Disrupt my peace as you come nearer A poison tainted-remedy You stand by And lie You suffocate my trust On the wall you are a fly Whoah You stand by And lie Weeks and years and you’re the same inside Spit your pride and go away You’re sucked in your own desperation Nose up and barely getting through It’s hard to breathe under the tension But still you manage to come to You stand by And lie You suffocate my trust On the wall you are a fly Whoah You stand by And lie Weeks and years and you’re the same inside Spit your pride and go away Tried and hardly true, I’m done with you, I’m done with you, I’m done Tried and hardly true, I’m done with you, I’m done with you, I’m done Tried and hardly true, I’m done with you, I’m done with you, I’m done Tried and hardly true, I’m done with you, I’m done with you, I’m done Tried and hardly true, I’m done with you, I’m done with you, I’m done Tried and hardly true, I’m done with you, I’m done with you, I’m done Tried and hardly true, I’m done with you, I’m done with you, I’m done Tried and hardly true, I’m done with you, I’m done with you, I’m done! You stand by And lie You suffocate my trust On the wall you are a fly Whoah You stand by And lie Weeks and years and you’re the same inside Spit your pride and go away You stand by And lie You suffocate my trust On the wall you are a fly Whoah You stand by And lie Weeks and years and you’re the same inside Because all is vanity Out through my eyes now you can see – Sotto James, 2014

Fall 02:47
A million words I’ve spoken without an outcome For they were words I hadn’t shared with anyone And although time it passes, I remain the same Locked on the inside of my head I go insane That is when I fall If I never wander I’ll never know at all If I never wander I’ll never know at all I’ve counted a thousand strands of grass impatiently And I’ve watched the paint dry off this wall of insecurity I often try to scream though I cannot be heard Stentorian voices choking me on every word That is when I fall If I never wander I’ll never know at all If I never wander I’ll never know it If I never wander I’ll never know it If you never wander you’ll never see it all – Sotto James, 2014

Midnight Sun 04:06
What have we here Another smile of yours that opens up doors Speak in my ear And make me feel like I can soar on your sweet words Just call me dead Because you stop my heartbeat when you bit your lips Lover, soon to be Uncage me, set me free Fire, soon to set You’ll burn me, I bet What have you done Another way to make me lose control and break Midnight sun Like rays of light that cause my whole world to ignite All black and white Everything around me turns to when you leave Lover, soon to be Uncage me, set me free Fire, soon to set You’ll burn me, I bet I bet… I bet… – Sotto James, 2014

Better 04:18
Hey, I think I found a new escape Deep in a world that I can relate to Where everything is unlike you know Debate To whether I should contemplate Think about the things that push me out of my way Let’s get this straight No boundaries Come join the fun with me Just close your eyes and see The one place you’ll be free Well, Dipping my thoughts in this inkwell I’m painting a picture of my feelings While from the ceiling hand fixations that I cannot seem to reach How, How can I wait, the time is now I’ll teleport after I bow End this dramatic comedy you tend to call reality No boundaries Come join the fun with me Just close your eyes and see The one place you’ll be free Let’s go somewhere better Let’s see something better Take me to a state of Relaxation mega Let’s go somewhere better Let’s see something better Enter in a state of Relaxation mega! No boundaries Come join the fun with me Just close your eyes and see The one place you’ll be free No boundaries Come join the fun with me Just close your eyes and see The one place you’ll be free – Sotto James, 2014

about

This album began in the fluttering heart and mind of a 9th grader, way back in 2013, and as a scratch recording of a song showed to this album's producer, Pat.
Together we spent that year writing and recording demos, and by 2014 the songs had been properly recorded, mixed, and mastered.

Many years passed until the decision was made to release these six songs, and this was due to rapidity of my growth. There were some necessary years for development which were needed to support this album's release, as much as its artist as well.

Before "Voices", many names passed trial for the album, such as The Path, Palette, and Hands.
All of this revolved around the central idea of birth– The beginning of a journey.

Because this is what this album is to me. It is the beginning of my journey, complete with mistakes bared but not forgotten, and lessons learned.

It is with great love that I present to you, the listener, this piece of me. I hope it speaks to you with the voices that it holds.
